- I have never been more sick of snow. I usually love snow, I think the more the snow, the more the beautiful everything looks. This year, we can hardly get out of our driveway because the opening is so narrow. Our ceiling has already leaked once and we paid some guy a ridiculous amount of money to clear HALF our roof so it won’t happen again. There are 2 inches of ice on our front walkway. I am sick of snow. No more. This better not be an extra long winter or I may MOVE this time! I MEAN IT!
- I am in Syracuse enjoying some time with my family. I figured I should take advantage of not being bound by something like employment and let them get their Avery fix as much as possible. We are having fun but missing Daddy. He’s heading out soon!
- I have not left my mom’s house in three days now and I am not the least bit stir crazy. Not working and not having a car has confirmed something about myself that I had suspected…I am a complete homebody. I could stay in for days at a time (and have done so) and not have the slightest desire to go anywhere. I think the weather helps…bringing a baby out in this mess really has no appeal to me whatsoever.
- I think I’m getting sick. Last night it started with a scratchy throat. One sleepless night, a stomachache and a slamming headache later, I’m seeing the writing on the wall. How do you know you’re getting sick? For me the scratchy throat is the first sign. For Brian, his neck starts itching. Random but true.
- Avery usually gets up between 8 and 9. She almost always wakes up a little at 7 and goes back to sleep, so I’ll typically wait it out. Today, I was wide awake while she was half awake at 7, and I heard what I could only assume was the loudest poop of all time come from her end of the room…five times in a row. So I thought I should go ahead and change her, which meant we were up early for the day. And when I changed her, there was…nothing. This kid has the loudest gas of all time, especially for such a small person!
- And now for some more comic relief, I have adapted one of Avery’s favorite songs to dance to into a baby version. I’m not sure how it happened, I just started changing words when I’d sing to her and, one thing led to another, and…
All the Little Babies
Sung to the tune of Beyonce’s “All the Single Ladies”I’m up in the tub, gettin cleaned up.
I’m doin’ my own little thing
I’ve gotta take a dip, cause you started to trip
Caused I ruined some more of your things
I’m not sure why, you’re mad at me
About my bodily functions
Cause I’ll still poop and pee, on your stuff till I’m three
You can’t be mad at meCause if you liked it then you shouldn’t have put me on it
If you liked it then you shouldn’t have put me on it
Don’t be mad, cause you’re seein’ that I peed on it.
If you liked it then you shouldn’t have put me on it.Wuh uh, oh, uh, uh, oh, oh, uh, oh, uh, uh, ohÂ
Wuh uh, oh, uh, uh, oh, oh, uh, oh, uh, uh, oh
Don’t judge me, I have lots of free time…

And I think an even more interesting use of your free time would be a little home video of you singing this song to Avery
Glad you’re enjoying your time off.
you are tooooooooooooooo funny.
Ambreen – Hmmmm, now you have my wheels turning…I think that might be a good idea, especially because I have some awesome not-so-Beyonce-like dance moves that Avery laughs her head off at. I’ll see what I can do.
Brooke – Can’t wait until Monday to hear the big news!
All the Little Babies- that is so funny- I may even have to put a link to it on my blog. Come on, you know you want the extra traffic.
you are hilarious! i sang it!
Libby, you write the funniest things EVERRRRRR! Oh my gosh, I laughed so hard reading “All the Little Babies.” My little cousins that are 2 and 3 LOVE to dance around to that song- and their moms really enjoyed reading your interpretation of it ; ) I hope you and Avery are doing great! I miss you all!
I’m glad someone else is a homebody too. (ha,ha)
The only thing is the stage I’m at right now I can’t stay home & sure do miss it. That’s okay, every stage is a blessing.
That’s a cute song.
Have a great day! Take care, Deb
Great song Libby- we may incorporate it in our kidzway moments.
